This role would act as the Talent Operations/Community Manager for Topcoder staff. This role is responsible for sourcing, attracting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding employees at

Topcoder as well as being their advocate and community manager while actively working for the company. People play a massive role in the success at Topcoder. Responsible for ensuring employees are satisfied in their positions and promoting Topcoder’s brand through recruitment initiatives. This role is an ongoing strategy to find specialists, leaders, and future executives for Topcoder.

Plan and implement onboarding, training, and development of the hiring for new employees. Manage candidates and employee experience. This role includes, but is not limited to, scheduling new hires’ training, working with teams to create company policies, and producing offer letters under the guidance of the Business operations org. The ultimate goal is to ensure that the new hires at Topcoder experience a smooth onboarding experience and get a warm welcome. In addition, ensure that Topcoder has a presence in the business community by proactively interacting with internal and external sources.

Objectives of this Role

  • Oversee the overall hiring strategy of the organization to ensure our teams consist of a diverse set of qualified individuals
  • Ensure the company’s staffing needs are met with a long-term talent strategy in mind
  • Act as community manager for all Topcoder staff members to help engage and advocate for them.
  • Devise and implement sourcing strategies to build pipelines of potential applicants
  • Create and enforce end-to-end candidate hiring processes to ensure a positive experience
  • Form close relationships with hiring managers to provide clear candidate/interviewer expectations
  • Manage the Staff Vibrancy metric

Responsibilities of this Role:

  • Manage the full-cycle recruiting activities for positions in an assigned territory and lines of business to include sourcing, screening, interviewing, developing a compensation package, closing candidates, and providing a high-touch onboarding experience
  • Proactively assess and consult with hiring managers promptly on vacancies and staffing needs, deliver a recruitment plan and offer alternatives
  • Recommend to Recruiting Manager and implement recruiting plans to recruit and retain top talent for open positions and anticipate turnover
  • Meet and consult with local community businesses, colleges, and universities to solicit an applicant pool and build a pipeline
  • Negotiate offers with candidates; negotiate applicant start date and schedule new hire orientation; extend selected applicant employment offer by providing all pre-employment information (i.e., offer letter, onboarding information)
  • Ensure new hires experience a positive onboarding
  • Work with the Wipro HR team and lab45 team for new employee onboarding
  • Develop and present to the leadership team a recruiting plan that encompasses all activities planned by quarter, including goals, metrics, and reporting on the active hiring pipeline
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices
  • Use standard and creative methods to recruit candidates, including but not limited to internet searches, advertising, internal and external career fairs, sourcing, direct recruiting, networking events, etc
  • Work closely with all orgs within Topcoder to ensure job descriptions are updated for posting and communicate if re-evaluation of classification or salary range is requested
  • Establish policies and procedures, collaborating with the legal team to ensure compliance
  • Maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients
  • Prepare weekly staffing reports
  • Manage internal job posting communications with employees and managers promptly
  • Participate in staff meetings and HR/Business-related policy revision or implementation
  • Identify, develop, and manage relationships with key colleges and university career services teams, student groups, and academic leaders
  • Assist in the development and lead the campus recruiting strategy for all roles across the business, including full-time and internship opportunities
  • Participate in recruiting-related projects and general duties as assigned
  • Create clear policies and review employee handbooks that explain company operations
  • Craft and send emails with information about the company and position, including work schedules, remote access, and company culture
  • Prepare onboarding employee information and coordinate with the community team to send onboarding welcome packages to new hires
  • Be the advocate to help new employees and engage them
  • Work with internal teams to ensure all accounts are created promptly for new employees
  • Gather candidate experience feedback from new hires
  • Observe, perceive, identify, and translate data
  • Identify and refine the right talent from available candidates
  • Organize orientation programs (first day, first week, first month, and first quarter)
  • Monitor new hire turnover and retention rates
  • Schedule and oversee training sessions
  • Introduce new hires to current employees
  • Communicate with new hires before their start date to provide the necessary information (e.g., work schedules and contract details)
  • Process any relevant employment paperwork and onboarding procedures
  • Gather candidate experience feedback from new hires
  • Assist existing employees when they move to a new department or position

Additional Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs in different areas and departments
  • Determine selection criteria for candidates by liaising with managers and other members of staff
  • Source applicants through online channels, such as LinkedIn and other professional networks
  • Create job descriptions and interview questions that reflect the requirements for each position
  • Plan interview and selection procedures, including screening calls and assessments.
  • Assess candidates’ information, including C.Vs., portfolios, and references
  • Organize and build a strong candidate pipeline
  • Keep records of all materials used for recruitment, including interview notes and related paperwork, to share with key members
