Hi Automation Pro friends-

Has anyone ever successfully used Workato’s Salesforce connector to convert leads to contacts? If so could you share how?

What you need is converting existing leads to contact? Or new leads will creating new contact? Can you describe the problem you are facing when working on it?

Yes exactly. I need to convert an existing lead to a contact when a purchase is made in another application.

The problem I’m facing is simply that I don’t see a way of doing that through the SF API. I could get my lead and use all the fields to create a contact and then delete the lead, but I would assume there is a more elegant way. In the SF UI I believe you can just convert them so I would assume this is available via API.

You may refer to the documentation and install the connector that Alexey share, it is great to have the convert leads action using the connector.

We've had our SF team create a custom rest endpoint in Salesforce specifically for this.

All I have to do is a custom action on the SF connector in Workato and provide the Lead ID and then the built in logic will either:

- convert the lead into opportunity, account, contact if it wasn't converted yet

- return the opportunity, account, contact if it was already converted
