Sidhant,

QuickBooks Desktop is completel;y separate product and it does not support standard APIs. The QB Connector will not work with QB desktop. The best approach to QB Desktop integration would be to consider files based integration.

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone integrated quickbook desktop / QB web connector with Workato using OAuth authentication ( username and password).

There is no option to do that with the existing connector we have in workato.

Quick response is appreciated.

Regards,
Sidhant Chawla

OAuth wouldnt use username/password

that would be called "Basic" auth

I can't speak to the QB connector specifically but if there's an option to use basic auth and you set that it should allow to use username and password.

Thank you for the response, Sir but I don't think we can implement file based integration in our case. It will be more complex than what we already had in our system.

Understand - unfortunaltly this is due to the API linmitations of QB Desktop. What are the set of use cases.

Integration will be between Salesforce (VMS) and QBD. We need to sync invoices in both the systems using bidirectional sync.
Issue is authorization of Quickbook desktop. It supports basic authentication. I know there are API limitations but I'm sure there should be some way of integrating these systems.

Do you think creating custom connector for QBD would help in such cases?

We have raised the ticket with Workato #211092.

We have evaluated a QBD connector and unfortunately due to the API limitations that is not possible.

Also note that QBD is installed on-premises and behind a firewall. So this would require setup of an OPA. From a file based integration perspective you could use On-Prem Files Connector.
