Workato CoPilot - Update Recipes
Every month, we see 30,000 recipes created on our platform. Yet, this is less than 5% of the total times that builders edit existing recipes. Last September, if you remember, we introduced recipe sketches in this Newsletter - a new medium that allows the builder and copilot to be completely in sync when generating recipes.
Starting today, we're happy to announce that Copilot will now also be able to help builders update existing recipes with sketches, add step comments and answer questions about the recipe.
This opens up a whole new era of productivity for our builders, helping them with many of their day to day tasks on platform. It is also a crucial stepping stone to a final goal where Copilots will be able to advise our customers and build out entire automation projects.
Why Is It Important?
The IDP by Workato solution continues improving! We have added increased accuracy in our engine, as well as validation possibilities.
IDP by Workato provides confidence scores to help you assess whether your process works effectively and flag items for additional review when needed. Confidence scores allow you to define a scalable process with minimum oversight and review for your document processing and data extraction.
Your confidence score is a number between 0 and 1 that represents the likelihood that the output contains the information you identified in your schema. We recommend that you assign a team member via Workflow Apps to review low confidence scores carefully to identify areas for improvement in the data extraction workflow. You also have the possibility to provide a direct link to the document that would allow you to download it within the single view for validation!

- Speed - Updating recipes are challenging both due to the missing context when builders are tasked to update a recipe they have not seen before. Copilot will now allow builders to get up to speed quickly and help with making these changes.
- Time to production - Documentation is the last mile of any automation project and often the last thing that builders want to do. Copilot can now generate step comments as well as recipe descriptions to ensure builders breeze through these activities.
What’s New?
- Copilot can now update recipes: When builders want to update an existing recipe, builders can now simply enter the prompt into Copilot with the modifications you’d like to see. Copilot recognises the intent and generates an initial sketch of the update alongside your current recipe. Builders can then review these changes, make further modifications and let Copilot build and configure the recipe.
Copilot can now explain recipes, and add missing comments: We are including 2 new buttons to the Copilot chat when builders edit a saved recipe. Copilot generates a comprehensive description of the recipe so that builders can understand how it works. In addition, Copilot can help to add comments to the recipe steps to further enhance the clarity and documentation of their workflows.

Platform Connector - February 2025 - Introducing RPA by Workato!
