Automation Quality & Security Accelerator

Workato’s Automation Quality and Security (AQS) accelerator provides a framework to standardise recipe development best practices and report on the non-adherence of recipes/deployment packages concerning the defined best practices. This accelerator solves some of the compliance check problems as there is:

  • No easy way for IT to check adherence to best practices.

  • No metrics to identify non-adherence to best practices.

  • No easy way for recipe builders to know whether they are adhering to internal best practices set by IT.

    When to use it?

The best practices can span across many design paradigms e.g. standards, conventions, security etc. Some of the key consequences of not automating quality and security checks are:

    • In the absence of an automated way to govern quality, the validation of the quality and security of the deliverables has to be done manually. Although this can be achieved, it can end up as a very time consuming exercise.

    • The problem gets aggravated in the case of large enterprises who intend to democratise automations or achieve wall to wall automations, and as a result are enabling both business and IT teams to build more automations faster. In this case, it becomes almost impossible to manually do a sanity check on the quality of all the deliverables.

    • As a result, this could result in lack of governance which eventually could result in performance degradation, unwanted errors and poor customer experience over time

Asset Tags - Organise across Teams and Projects
I'm happy to announce that Asset tags have just been released for all our customers. They bring a  new level of organisation to the customers’ workspaces: categorise, search, and filter recipes, connections, pages, and data tables – across all projects.

      Small tips:
      • All environments share a single tag list. By default, any collaborator can create and assign tags. Workspace admins can configure tag permissions for greater control.
      • All modifications with tags are stored in AuditLog.
      • Customers can add/edit/assign/delete tags using Dev API endpoints.
      • RLCM allows collaborators to save tags during export/import packages
      • Tags might be used in RecipeOps to filter in the Recipe started trigger

We will gladly collect feedback about actual use cases to better understand the improvement priority.
