Model Context Protocol (MCP) is now available in API Collections
We're excited to announce that Workato API Collections can now be exposed as Remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) Servers, enabling seamless integration with AI agents and LLM-powered tools like Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf.
What is MCP?
Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard developed by Anthropic that standardises how AI agents discover, connect to, and invoke external tools and services. It eliminates the need for custom integrations, enabling LLMs to access enterprise capabilities through a unified interface.
Key Features Available Now:- Remote MCP Server Support: Convert your existing API Collections into MCP-compatible servers instantly
- Enterprise-Grade Security: Built on Workato's proven governance foundations with access policies, identity-aware routing, and audit trails
- Zero Rework Required: Leverage your existing API Recipes and Collections without rebuilding
- Multi-Platform Support: Works seamlessly with Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, and other MCP-compatible clients
We are now featured on
Anthropic's integration page.
Stay tuned, as new features are in progress, like our Dev API as MCP Server, Agent as MCP (which enables Workato Genies to be exposed as an MCP server, allowing external AI Agents to invoke Workato's intelligent automation capabilities) or support of Workato Genie MCP (which allows Workato Genies to consume external MCP servers as skills, expanding their capabilities).

SAP RFC Connector: Feature, Fix and Speed Optimisation
With
OPA 27.1, we have introduced both enhancements and performance optimisations to our SAP RFC connector, together with bug fixing:
- SAP IDoc trigger enhancement
- The description of the basic IDoc type will now reflect the partner numbers and partner types associated with that particular basic type. Our documentation provides more details.
- SAP IDoc batch trigger performance fix
- Segments were being loaded for each IDoc in the batch, causing delays during metadata refresh. The performance was optimised by loading segments only once per batch.
- SAP IDoc bug fix for custom extensions
- Some custom IDocs were not being loaded in the picklist due to the logic that we released in OPA v25.1. We refactored the logic to include all edge cases as well.
